45 HOURS PRESCHOOL METHODS AND MATERIALS (second part of 90 Hours & CDA)

The primary goal is to have a good understanding of how developmental stages and behaviors show up in group childcare situations and how it influences curriculum planning for preschool children (ages 3-5).  Additionally, participants of this course will be equipped with resources and strategies to help them develop into competent caregivers and teachers who can have a positive impact on children’s lives and academic development.  This course meets the Maryland states requirements for pre school teachers in a child care program.
30 hours – Curriculum, 6 hours – Special Needs, 3 hours – Professionalism,         3 hours - Community

The primary goal is to have a good understanding of how developmental stages and behaviors show up in group childcare situations and how it influences curriculum planning for school age children (ages 5-12).  Additionally, participants of this course will be equipped with resources and strategies to help them develop into competent caregivers and teachers who can have a positive impact on children’s lives and academic development.  This course meets the Maryland states requirements for teachers in a before and after school program.

9 HOURS COMMUNICATION COURSE

The primary goal is to provide you with numerous opportunities to analyze your communication skills and apply them to real-life situations.  Effective communication takes practice, and practice requires feedback from those around you.  This course meets the Maryland state requirements for communication skills.

30 HOURS CDA PREPARATION COURSE
 
The primary goal is to provide 30 hours of the 120 hours of training required for CDA Candidates, to introduce the core skills and knowledge of the early childhood profession, and to assist the CDA Candidate in the CDA application process.    
11.5 hours - Child Development ,  6 hours – Curriculum,        5 hours - Health, Safety, Nutrition ,   5.5 hours – Professionalism,   2 hours - Community

The primary goal is to have a good understanding of how developmental stages and behaviors show up in group childcare situations from birth through age twelve. Additionally, participants of this course will be equipped with resources and strategies to help them develop into competent caregivers and teachers who can have a positive impact on children’s lives and academic development.   This course meets the Maryland states requirements for all teachers in a child care program.
